Holding Patterns

In my more than two decades of training as a massage therapist, integrative body therapist, yoga and dance teacher, and through my own experience of life in a body, I have identified three types of tenure / constriction that occur in the body.

1. Physical / Physiological
2. Emotional
3. Mental

These holding patterns and chronic conditions causing limitation that eventually will become very difficult to relax. The celebration occurs more, the body learns to hold, which means more exploitation, and so on and so on.

It is useful to identify the type of exploitation that is present in a particular area of ​​your body if you will be able to release the waiting period and greater freedom in your body, and therefore in his life.

I will describe each of these types of exploitation.

1. The celebration of physical / physiological itself is caused by mechanical and anatomical condition of the body. For example, if you have one leg longer than the other, which will compensate for the chronic limp, which will result in a holding in the hip and pelvic girdle. Or the lack of calcium in your system, your muscles will relax less easily remain in a constant state of contraction. Physics and holding patterns caused physiologically can often be treated or repaired if identified correctly.

2. Emotional holding patterns are the result of chronic emotional problems were identified that are installed in the body tissues. Anger, guilt, resentment, guilt, evasion, if not addressed will not go away. They just covertly embedded in his body. Some schools of thought believe that it is necessary to identify the life experience that caused the emotional celebration in order to release that energy.

3. Mental holding patterns are caused by a belief that persistently adhere. That belief may belong to the body, or may seem completely unrelated. Either way, the unconscious attachment to this belief will lead to a stagnation in the body. If you think about it, how could it be otherwise. After all, the whole nervous system activity, control of all tissues, organs, muscles and bones in the body originates in the brain, thoughts originate from the same place. Clearly, these influence each other. So bring your beliefs and thoughts in consciousness can have enormous impact on the freedom of the body or lack of.

Observing patterns of holding the body in everyday life during the practice exercise, dance or yoga, and explore the reasons for holding up three possible patterns can reveal valuable truths about the wisdom of your body .
